What is Emotional Intelligence?
Emotional Intelligence (EI) or emotional quotient (EQ) is a set of skills that help us better perceive, understand and manage emotions in ourselves and in others. Collectively they help us make intelligent responses to, and use of, emotions. These skills are as important as your intellect (IQ) in determining success in work and in life. Everyone, no matter what job function, has interactions with other people. Your capacity to understand your emotions, to be aware of them and how they impact the way you behave and relate to others, will improve your ‘people‘ skills and help you ultimately be more satisfied and successful.
Learning Partnerships offers a range of the internationally acclaimed Emotional Intelligence courses to help build and strengthen within your workplace.

Emotional Intelligence Programs
One Day Enhancement Program
Most leaders recognise the importance of keeping people engaged, motivated and committed to their work and organisation. Indeed, it’s a common requirement of most leadership positions. However, most leaders will also tell you that keeping people engaged, motivated and committed isn’t so easy a task. Many factors influence an individual’s motivation ranging from day-to-day tasks, right through to the working styles of colleagues. What is motivating for one can be de-motivating for others. The Engaging Leader Program is a powerful one-day leadership program bringing together the latest developments in Neuroscience, Human Motivation and Emotional Intelligence to help leaders enhance levels of motivation, commitment and engagement in their teams.
Objectives
This program has been designed to help leaders enhance levels of motivation, commitment and engagement in their team.
In this program, participants will:
discuss what employee engagement is, how it’s typically measured and why it’s important to organisational performance,
examine feedback on engaging leadership competencies and determine leadership behaviours you could demonstrate to enhance staff motivation and engagement, and
practise applying models and techniques for enhancing individual staff motivation and engagement at work.

One Day Enhancement Program
Leadership is fundamentally about facilitating high performance, thereby motivating others to do things effectively and efficiently. Emotional intelligence is a key attribute that helps leaders achieve this function. There is a wealth of literature detailing the impact emotion has on individuals’ performance. This research has shown, for example, that people perform their best at work when they feel involved in purposeful work that develops who they are, and when they feel valued, cared for, consulted, respected, informed and understood. This research has also shown that people often perform their worst when they feel unproductive feelings, such as feeling overly worried, frustrated, concerned, stressed, inadequate and fearful.

During this program, you will improve your understanding of emotions and emotional intelligence. You will also explore and practise tools and techniques for applying emotional intelligence in leadership, and creating high performance in others on that basis.
In this program, participants will:

examine tools and techniques for effectively asking for, and responding to, feedback,

There are six core modules of the program. Each session, delivered in a two-hour professionally facilitated format, includes:
- Relevant pre-work,
- Cutting-edge research,
- Experiential scenarios, and
- On-the-job applications.
The program has been structured around the 70:20:10 learning ratio. That is,
- 10% of learning occurs in formal learning sessions
- 20% occurs through conversation with others, and
- 70% occurs through practice and experience.
The program uses the following methodologies:
- Mindset - inspirational research or leading edge content to shift participants' mindsets,
- Toolset - models, approaches and techniques to achieve goals, and
- Skillset - learning how to accomplish goals through practice.
The program contains a Time 1 and a Time 2 Genos EI Leadership Feedback Report. The assessment at the beginning helps personalise the program and allows participants to receive results and feedback on their current EI Leadership Behaviour. In knowing they will receive a second assessment, this helps participants to have a growth mindset and to understand the importance of ongoing development.
