This program has been designed for school students and job seekers to help them prepare for work and develop essential employability skills and confidence to stand out and thrive in the workplace and gain a valuable nationally recognised FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.

COURSE DETAILS

Our Work Ready Program (FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways) is structured in a modular way to break up the units of competencies into logical clusters. This enables students to have incremental wins to encourage them to keep going and progress.

All assessments and activities are contextualised to real business situations enabling them to develop skills and experience in a safe, supportive environment.

After completing the three core clusters students choose three electives that best suit their individual aspirations and strengths.

This program is designed to develop confidence, knowledge, skills and experience to support students and job seekers obtain employment and thrive in the workplace.  It is a flexible program that will work within other complementary programs for developing employability and technical skills.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR WORK

In this block students will learn the following skills and apply them in a range of different work scenarios:

  • Use Routine Strategies for Lifelong Learning
  • Use Routine Strategies for Numeracy
  • Use Routine Strategies for Reading and Writing
  • Use Digital Technology for Routine Tasks.

CAREER PLANNING AND JOB PREPARATION

In this block students will learn the following skills and apply them in a way that helps them to prepare themselves for the workforce. They will create a skills-based resume, interview confidence kit and participate in mock interviews:

  • Identifying Career Goals
  • Making an Impact
  • Job Seeking
  • Resumes and Cover Letters
  • Interview Skills.

PARTICIPATE EFFECTIVELY IN THE WORKPLACE

In this block students will learn the following skills and apply them in a variety of workplace scenarios:

  • Interacting effectively with others at work
  • Use strategies for problem solving.

CHOOSE ELECTIVES

Select three electives that best suits the needs of your cohort:

  • Provide a service to customers
  • Contribute to Workplace Health and Safety
  • Use hygiene for food handling
  • Participate in work placement / work experience
  • Responsible service of alcohol
  • Show social and cultural sensitivity
  • Understand routine workplace signs.

We can also credit completed units, e.g. Provide First Aid or White card.

Work Placement

Getting hands-on in the work environment is the best way to put into practice all you have learnt.

This program ends with a work placement for work experience and demonstrating your competencies.

Delivery

We support rolling intakes of students which means you can start at any time. We have a flexible learning environment that helps people achieve their goals and succeed in completing their qualifications which suits their life commitments, learning style and support needs. Qualifications are completed over 12 months and if you need to you can extend your course.

We have two Different styles of Delivery

Online Self Directed Option

Our Online Self-Directed Option is for highly motivated fee-for-service students seeking an affordable, self-paced, online learning model with the ability to accelerate the completion of your nationally recognised qualification at your own time management. Please contact our Learning Partnerships Administration Staff should you wish to proceed with this option. This option includes:

  • Orientation meeting with Learning Partnerships
  • Online delivery only
  • Virtual Study Halls
  • Student Forums
  • Processing of eligible Credits and RPLs (pro-rata'd fees apply)
  • Learning resources (exception where a textbook is required)
  • Two attempts to attain competency per unit of study (additional attempts available as fee for service)

This Delivery Option Excludes:

  • Workshops and Coaching (coaching available as fee for service)
  • Textbooks where required which can be purchased via our textbook list portal to Booktopia.

Mentored Delivery

Our default by popular demand Mentored Delivery Option is perfect for those students that learn best with a bit more support. While still priced very affordable it provides more coaching and mentoring on a one-to-one basis with your trainer.

Includes:

  • Orientation meeting with Learning Partnerships
  • Online delivery plus one-hour individual coaching per unit (additional coaching available as fee for service)
  • Tutorial Days
  • Virtual Study Halls
  • Student Forums
  • Processing of eligible Credits and RPLs (pro-rata'd fees apply)
  • Learning resources (except where a textbook is required)
  • Three attempts to attain competency per unit of study (additional attempts available as fee for service)

This Delivery Option Excludes:

 Forums and Connection

  • Tutorial Days: Learning Partnerships Tutorial Days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can self-study through your learning materials in a comfortable learning environment.
  • Virtual Study Halls:  Connect with your peers and trainers with weekly tutorial days on campus (Tuesday and Thursday) and Virtual study halls monthly. You will be invited to these when you enrol so that they are always in your calendar.
  • Forums: Our Student Forums allow you to ask questions and get answers and interact with both students and trainers and assessors.

Workshops and In House Delivery

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL is the formal acknowledgement of a person’s current skills and knowledge no matter how, when or where the learning occurred.

If you have two or more years experience you may be able to obtain part or all of the qualification through RPL with a simple process of a short question and answer document, portfolio of evidence and a third party report.
